Ball valve for gas pipelines

Ball valves for gas pipelines are used as a shut-off device on pipelines. The pipes are used to transport natural gas with a working environment temperature from minus 15 °С to plus 80 °С. A short-term increase in the working environment temperature up to 100 °C is allowed. As well as lowering to ambient temperature in accordance with the climatic version of the valve. It is possible to manufacture valves for operation on pipelines with a working environment temperature of up to 250 °C

Design features

For gaseous media, the most reliable is the all-welded housing design.
  1. For gaseous media, the all-welded body design is the most reliable. It minimizes the risk of gas leakage into the atmosphere.
  2. The full bore of the ball valves provides the ability to pass cleaning and diagnostic devices through it.

3. The ball valve plug is fixed in the supports. The relief hole in the plug allows to compensate for the pressure in the inner cavity of the valve and reduces the possibility of plug deformation.
4. The valve has plug rotation stops. They clearly set its position relative to the pipeline axis in the “open” and “closed” positions.
5. The valves are equipped with a system of forced supply of sealing grease to the sealing areas of the spindle and seats. It provides restoration (if necessary) of tightness during operation. Standardized grease inlet fittings allow quick attachment of the stuffing device adapter. (DN150 and above)
6. Drainage provides, first of all, the possibility of safe gas release from the inner cavity. It also allows to equip the valve with a device for monitoring the leaks of the working fluid.
7. The split spindle gland assembly allows for safe replacement of the soft spindle seal on an active pipeline (plug closed).

Technical specifications

Valve tightness class – «А» according to GOST 9544-93.

Spring-loaded, double-sealed packing seats (primary metal-to-metal, secondary metal-to-polyurethane) are in constant contact with the shutter. The shutter is protected from adhesion of the working fluid. It has stable class “A” tightness indicators both at the inlet and outlet of the valve.

Loose (non-rigid) sealing of the secondary soft seal, primarily, significantly reduces the loads faced by the polymer seal ring during valve operation.
The dimensions of the polyurethane ring and the groove for it are made in such a way that when the seat is pressed against the plug, the ring is pressed into the groove without protruding beyond the seat. This contributes to the greater safety of the rings and the preservation of the seal tightness of the shutter when the fluid flow with the presence of mechanical impurities is shutdown

CLIMATIC VERSION ACCORDING TO GOST 15150-69 – «У» (ambient temperature – from minus 45 to plus 50°С);
– «ХЛ» (ambient temperature – from minus 60 to plus 45°С);
CONNECTION TO THE PIPELINE Any direction of the working fluid.
The installation position of the valves on the pipeline – on a horizontal pipeline with the drive up (for valves with a pneumatic hydraulic drive).
To ensure tightness, the connection of the valves to the pipeline is welded. The beveling is carried out to fit the customer`s pipe. At the request of the customer, it is possible to produce valves with flange connections.
INSTALLATION TYPE The ball valve for gas pipelines is produced in above-ground and underground (DN 150 and above) versions.
CONTROL The valves are controlled by means of a manual drive, a pneumatic hydraulic drive or a jet drive. At the request of the customer, it is possible to produce valves with control from an electric drive. As well as a complete set of valves with drives of any national and foreign manufacturers.
The pneumohydraulic drive can be equipped with control units of EPUU (ЭППУ), BUP(БУП), BUK(БУК) types for 24 and 110V. Valve drives DN 400 and above can be equipped with valve emergency shutoff automatic device.
Underground ball valve drives are controlled by the transported fluid. Above-ground valve control can be carried out both by the transported fluid and from an external source.

Material of main parts

Depending on the characteristics of the transported fluid, as well as at the request of the customer, ball valves for gas pipelines are made of titanium. Producing from corrosion-resistant steels is possible (08Х18Н10Т or 10Х17Н13М3Т).
